Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Hunter x Hunter is set in a world where Hunters exist to perform all manner of dangerous tasks like capturing criminals and bravely searching for lost treasures in uncharted territories. Twelve-year-old Gon Freecss is determined to become the best Hunter possible in hopes of finding his father, who was a Hunter himself and had long ago abandoned his young son. However, Gon soon realizes the path to achieving his goals is far more challenging than he could have ever imagined.

Along the way to becoming an official Hunter, Gon befriends the lively doctor-in-training Leorio, vengeful Kurapika, and rebellious ex-assassin Killua. To attain their own goals and desires, together the four of them take the Hunter Exam, notorious for its low success rate and high probability of death. Throughout their journey, Gon and his friends embark on an adventure that puts them through many hardships and struggles. They will meet a plethora of monsters, creatures, and characters—all while learning what being a Hunter truly means.

Adventures are exciting stories, with new experiences or exotic locales. Adventures are designed to provide an action-filled, energetic experience for the viewer. Rather than the predominant emphasis on violence and fighting that is found in pure action anime, however, the viewer of adventures can live vicariously through the travels, conquests, explorations, creation of empires, struggles and situations that confront the main characters, actual historical figures or protagonists. Under the category of adventures, we can include traditional swashbucklers, serialized films, and historical spectacles, searches or expeditions for lost continents, "jungle" and "desert" epics, treasure hunts and quests, disaster films, and heroic journeys or searches for the unknown. Adventure films are often, but not always, set in an historical period, and may include adapted stories of historical or literary adventure heroes, kings, battles, rebellion, or piracy.

Action anime usually involve a fairly straightforward story of good guys versus bad guys, where most disputes are resolved by using physical force. It often contains a lot of shooting, explosions and fighting.

A fantasy world is a type of imaginary world, part of a fictional universe. Typical worlds involve, but are not limited to magic or magical abilities and a medieval theme. Some examples include: a parallel world tenuously connected to Earth via magical portals or items; a fictional Earth-like planet in the remote past or future; or an entirely independent world set in another universe. Many fantasy worlds draw heavily on real world history, geography and sociology, and also on folklore.

Anime that fit in the alternative present category usually have technology and society that is very similar to ours, but with differences in both, history and culture, which sometimes are blatantly obvious, but sometimes harder to place; this one can at times be very subjective.

Koharu Hoshizuki

Birthdate: October 13 Horoscope: Libra Height: 177CM Weight: 58KG Blood Type: AB Age: 26 Job: School doctor  Hoshizuki Kotarou is 26 years old, the school nurse and heir of the school chairman. He often has Tsukiko cleaning his messy office for him and making him "nasty tea". His father was the president of the board and when he retired he gave the position to his sister, Koharu. However his Koharu and family decide they all want to go work overseas so Kotarou ends up taking over the position. He's very weak to alcohol and falls asleep quickly if he drinks so he tries to avoid it. During the school festival he tells Tsukiko not to fall in love with him because he would never be able to love her back.   Kotarou wanted to become a doctor but he gave up his dream because he couldn't save Iku's dying sister. Yui had feelings for him, and Kotarou didn't know what to do because he only saw her and Iku as "younger siblings" so he ended up avoiding her, ever since then he was in deep regret and blamed himself for not listening to her.  After the school trip, Kotarou realizes he can't hold his feelings in for Tsukiko anymore so he agrees to go to an omiai that Koharu's been forcing him for a while. Tsukiko is upset and tells him her feelings and says she doesn't want him to go. He rejects her and goes anyway. She ends up waiting for him by the school gates and it begins to rain.   She ends up waiting until Kotarou arrives. When he does she passes out from the cold, He takes her to her room and basically there they end up admitting their feelings to each other and her telling Kotarou that Yui wanted him to be happy. Kotarou and Tsukiko end up living together after she graduates college.

Kotarou Hoshizuki

Age: 12 (beginning), 14-15 (current) Birthday: May 5 Height: 154 cm Weight: 49 kg Blood type: B Occupation: Hunter Nen type: Enhancement Moves: Jajanken: Rock/Paper/Scissors Gon is the son of Ging Freecss, a legendary hunter whose current whereabouts are unknown. He never knew his father was alive, much less a hunter until he met Kite; a hunter who was also looking for Ging. From this point on, he became determined to find his father and decided to take the Hunter exam to do so. He became friends with Killua almost instantly when they met at the Hunter exam.  Gon's an innocent boy who is willing to help anyone, especially his friends. He rarely ever looks at anything in a bad way. His curious and naive personality often frustrates his friends but this is also the reason why many people are attracted to him. He is also from the enhancer nen group. He usually fights barehanded or with his fishing rod, but it is seen quite often that Gon's fist is more deadly than any weapons.

Gon Freecss

He is one of the three fighters that challenge Gon and Killua on the 200th floor of the Heavens Arena. Having reached the 200th floor without being able to use Nen, Gido was "initiated" after being attacked with a malicious aura attack and lost both of his legs.   He is an Enhancer and can manipulate spinning tops as weapons.
